PLATFORMS

A significant feature of monorail commuting is that platform and train floor are at same levels. This speeds boarding and reduces station delays. It also allows unassisted boarding for the handicapped rider without special mechanical devices, and removes any feeling of inconvenience to others experienced when using special boarding features required for bus and trolley.

Four locations adjoining existing structures are explored here for plausible station stops. These individual monorail station platform concepts are presented in two brief dimensional form to show elevator and stair locations and other features basic to the operations of the train system and the convenience and safety for the riders. Where the station is not associated with an existing building, a general arrangement for a uniform station platform is also to be developed.
